It was fantastic to be invited to present a poster at the recent Oxford University Innovation & Oxford AHSN Technology Showcase 2015, in June 2015. The high quality talks displayed the fantastic range of projects in this field currently going on in Oxford, including keynotes from:
- Dr Paul Rice, Head of Technology Strategy in the Digital Health team in NHS England
- Dame Fiona Caldicott, National Data Guardian for Health and Social Care
- Professor Fitt, Vice Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University
- Andy Walker, Commercial Director for McLaren Applied Technologies
There were also fantastic project talks, including an excellent overview from Prof Simon Lovestone on the work he and his team have been doing in big data in dementia research, plus a fascinating talk from Dr Christoffer Nellaker on the use of image recognition and computational analysis for aiding diagnosis of rare diseases through photographs of patients.
The foyer was also filled with lots of fantastic posters, further living up to the 'showcase' of the wealth of activity in Oxford, and it was a real pleasure to meet so many of the people presenting, and read about their work. Many thanks to Oxford University Innovation and the Oxford AHSN for inviting Digital Health Oxford to present a poster to exhibit some of the activities over the past year. It was a great opportunity to spread the word of the fantastic community and network that we have built, and also exhibit some of the events and tangible outcomes in the form of projects, including ongoing plans for the grassroots innovation hub, The Hill. The poster is below, and PDF is also available to download.
